Her enigmatically ambient sound is the perfect vehicle for the emotive musings that characterise Remitz’ bold songwriting. – Purple Melon
23 year old singer-songwriter Charlee Remitz shines brightly on every track that her crisp and expressive voice graces. The contention of her parents divorce dealt a great deal of pain, but from this pain she now draws strength and her battle-hardened stance to songwriting makes for a gripping performance on every release. Dealing in ambient pop atmosphere, she incorporates facets of her life story, and her wide array of music influences into a genre that allows her to display the true breadth of her talent.
2015 album Bright White Trims, that drew influence from the likes of Troye Sivan, G-Eazy, and Taylor Swift, became a big milestone for Remitz. Three tracks garnered over 150K streams on Spotify alone, she made the top 200 on College Music Radio and her music was featured on multiple American TV network shows which made for thousands of hits on Shazam. This was followed by 2016 release Saints Until Fridays, which received similar acclaim with lead track 1000 Ruined Holidays garnering over 130K streams on Spotify.
2017 saw the start of her work with producing newcomer Zach Milo, and their synergy and shared vision comes across in a string of well crafted singles with Remitz breaking her almost year long musical silence with To Tell You The Truth. Spinning a tale of the complexity of newfound love, she portrays every dimension of her syrupy sweet voice – the perfect compliment to the trend-defying production that is reminiscent of more than a handful of electro pop heavyweights.
