Emily Laing

London’s Emily Laing draws inspiration from her own experiences to create music which is intrinsically human at its core. Finding a kinship with Scottish fables and traditional folk songs, the young artist imbues her creations with a refreshing degree of sincerity and candour, embracing life’s imperfections.

Finding fame with a song she wrote about Christopher Chope’s controversial vote in parliament regarding upskirting, Emily uses her ubiquitous social platforms to connect candidly with her audience. Writing with her heart on her sleeve, she uses her songwriting to discuss a range of personal topics – with a particular focus on mental health, romance and family relationships.
