FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS
SAI’s ‘Shame’ had some great features from across the music publication sphere, featuring in respected industry publications like Link-Up TV & Clout. Here’s the rundown of what you need to know:
Breathtaking vocals with a tone to die for, coupled with addictive melodies and genius lyrics, are the name of the game with SAI (pronounced ‘say’, a backronym for ‘Sing About It’). Debuting her career by writing a song on Ariana Grande’s 1st album and being chosen by the BBC to represent the UK in Eurovision 2019, SAI earned early collaborations with UK grime legends Chipmunk and Wretch 32 and has recently supported US Superstars Ne-Yo, Brandy and BoyzIIMen on their UK tours leading to perform to audiences of thousands.
Currently locked away in the studio, SAI is about to treat us to her new EP for which she has joined forces with some of the UK’s hottest talents (ADP, 808bhav808, Rapper Young Spray…). Her 1st solo single ‘Million Bucks’ takes us right back with its 90’s RnB flavoured production – Lush soul chord movements bedded underneath a strong presence of low-end bass fused with a 90’s HipHop drum pattern and a twang of summery west coast vibes in the synth lead, all coming together to allow just enough space for SAI’s honeyed vocals to blow our mind.
– SAI smiles and says, when asked to describe her sound. One that she has made her own, combining just enough reminiscence of that sugar soul we miss from the 90’s and the badass attitude a woman needs to stay on top in 2020!
