SHIMA is a singer, producer, and engineer from Tokyo, Japan. With a Japanese mother and an American father, SHIMA belongs to two cultures and writes lyrics in both English and Japanese. SHIMA began making music on GarageBand in high school when she received her father’s old MacBook. She later studied Music Engineering and Computer Engineering in college, and worked as a software engineer for about two years before quitting to pursue music full-time. SHIMA is currently based in Los Angeles.
