Future of Music Summit: Interview with Roberta Hickey at Little Pink Book

Ahead of our Future of Music on 26th February we caught up with Roberta Hickey, Director at Little Pink Book . Roberta will be a part of the Brand Collabs and Their Importance in the Journey of an Independent Artist panel.

How did you get into the industry, tell us about your journey?
After Uni I did a Summer in Ibiza and then moved to London to start working as a digital planner buyer for brands. I knew I wanted to move into music so used the combination of my digital knowledge & Ibiza experience to learn more about social media and ended up moving over to a social media role looking after Carl Cox and Carl Cox @ Space accounts. Moving on from there I spent over 3 years at MTV and am now Director of my own music consultancy, Little Pink Book.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Meeting new people! I love that my job is basically chatting about music with people and been out and about meeting lots of new people is an aspect that I have been really missing over the last year.

What’s been a career highlight?
Working on the MTV EMA’s when they came to London. MTV took over the City with a whole week of amazing events ending in the EMA’s with guests such as French Montana, Travis Scott & more.

What has kept you sane during this pandemic?
Definitely getting outside as much as possible! Walking, running or cycling just been outdoors as much as possible has been a real saviour.

What was your top album of 2020?

Fabric Presents Maribou State
